 | Leonardo da Vinci was talented in
making bodies look round and solid, as in the painting, Virgin of the Rocks. Of his
many techniques he used, he enjoyed the near and far technique the most.
Things up close looked big, while things far away looked small. This is called sfumato.
|
 | He used simple shapes in painting. In
the painting, Baptism of the Christ, he used a triangle to connect Mary, John, and
Jesus. He used a circle to connect Mary, the angel, John, and Jesus.
|
 | His backgrounds were more detailed than
others in his time because of his many techniques that he used such as near and
far, shading, and many, many others.
|
 | Leonardo paid attention to every small
detail, and because of that his paintings were much more realistic than many others in his
area.
|
 | He used his skills to put his ideas,
thoughts, and feelings down on paper (or ceilings or walls).
|
 | Leonardo da Vinci lived in the Renaissance art time period.
|
 | Like I said on the Leadership page,
Leonardo led people to new ideas. He did much more than just paint.
